Guinevere Birmans two breeding girls are Fifi and Rose.

"My name is Fifi.  I am a Lilac Point Birman.

I am the matriarch of our home.  Anyone or anything that enters our home is fully checked out by me.  Once I have given the okay than the rest or my furry companions may check it out.

The other important task I have in the Van Hest household is maintaining a vigil if one of my humans becomes ill.  I take up my post at the foot of the bed and until I feel that they are on the mend I don't move. Jody, my human Mum does insist that I have meal and water breaks.

The Van Hest breeding programme began with me.  Rose below, is my daughter from my first litter.  She has just had her first litter on the 30.11.07.  I'm a grandmother but I much prefer being a Mum.  I love having babies and caring for them."

"My name is Rose.  I am a Chocolate Point Birman.

I was chosen by 6yr old human Lily to stay in the Van Hest household with my brother Seely.  I am a touch more quite than Seely preferring to sleep in the children's beds and watch the happenings from a high vantage point.

I just recently had my first mating.  I wasn't to sure what was happening but my humans cuddled and comforted me through it.  Then one Friday night about 9.00pm, after having pain in my back and tummy all day I could take it no longer.  I screamed for my human Mum Jody, she'll know what to do. I was rushed to the bathroom where I had my first kitten.  I wasn't so sure about all of this but Jody was quietly encouraging me to keep going.  By 12midnight I had 5 bonny kittens and I was exhausted.  Jody sat with me for the rest of the night.

The next couple of days were intense, caring for my new babies but Jody was there every step of the way. Now I am a very attentive Mother."
